More than twice I was told the idea of building cheeeeap call centers or even cheeeeaper near-shore software development centers. Yes. Brilliant ideas. For clarification the following statement.
POLAND IS NOT CHEAP ANYMORE!
And - please! - do not start arguing or try me to convince from the oppsite. Well, yes, you are right, in the eastern part of Poland and specially in the country the living costs are different for sure. But, on the other hand, no high-educated University grad wants to live there. Uuuh. Suprise, suprise. :)
So what are the chances of setting up a sucessfull call center with fluent German and/or English speaking, high educated master's degrees with special business know-how near the Ukrainian border? Take a guess!
Beside, I am happy in Wroclaw and don't want to move again (reasons to be found in this blog!) if possible.
And apropos Wroclaw: Living costs of Polish boom towns are almost comparable with German metropolitan areas. Warsaw definitely beyond the average, Wroclaw increaslingly likely.
And beer prices are already at German level, unfortunately...
