New PKP record...

Currently I am travelling a lot via night train to a client. It is quite comfortable: You enter the train, sleep in your bunk and in the morning you are at you destination.

Well almost always.

Today I had a night train back home. At 5:40 it should arrive in Wroclaw. I was aware it will take some more time since currently - obviously close after Poland's summer vacation period - there are heavy construction work with Polands rail tracks. (Good idea! 480km in 9hours indicate some improvements are possible...)

However, at 6 in the morning I stood up (normally the conductor should have awaken me half an hour ago) and asked my cell phone about it's current position and see remaining track home. Maybe another half an hour, I thought. But: This gadget told me I am on half way between start and destination. Yes, right. Can't be. Ha, that would mean, the train needs another 5 hours home. Bloody gadget.

Waiting for the next strain station, finally approaching. And I do not trust my eyes: The bloody cell phone is right about it's position. We are about still 5 hours (normal Polish train time) away from home. I thought, I could almost see the departing train station...

Am I woke up in a parallel universe?

I go to the conductor asking innocent about the remaining time. He is looking at me and answers quietly: A lot.

I just turned around and went back to my bunk finding some more sleep...
